Our ESCUCHA! students also have the opportunity to participate in Community Based Service Learning Projects.

Service to our community has been an integral component of our ESCUCHA! Program. In 2018, we took on our most ambitious service
project, the renovation of the kid’s section of the Dover Free Public Library. The students were concerned that the building that was supposed to
be the educational / cultural hub and the historical memory of our town had fallen into disrepair.  In addition to painting and updating, one of our adult mentors painted beautiful murals depicting the joy and value of reading in children’s lives. We also created a “Donate Your Favorite Book” initiative for our members and supporters to share their personal love of books.
